Data Recover
Data recovery is probably one of the most rewarding jobs a technician can do, that is if it is successful. It is a nightmare if it isn’t. In this day and age, it is shocking to still find those without a backup device or a backup plan. I’m not sure if it is the cost or the lack of knowledge that prohibits the user from backing up their important docs, pictures, videos and emails.
It is surprising how angry some new clients get when their data is unrecoverable without sending the drive off to a clean room facility. They even get madder when you tell them the average cost is 1400.00. Don’t shoot the messenger please. We are only trying to help you regain those precious documents and memories. We know it is expensive and believe it or not, when we send it off to a facility that does data recovery, we don’t make a dime off of it. It is all going to the static free room facility.
Just Geek IT provides data recovery to our clients and new customers. We don’t charge an arm and leg to do it on our level. In fact, we are the cheapest. We don’t believe in holding our customers’ hostage for their data and the reward of recovery is priceless!
If you find yourself in a situation where data recovery is needed, we will help you as best as we can. Just Geek IT however, would like to offer everyone the basics of data recovery and provide a way for you to prevent such disasters.
- Local backup: This is where you use an external drive to backup files to. We recommend doing this often, no less than at least once a month.
- Online backup: Companies such Carbonite and MozyPro provide some of the best online backup . They store your files on the cloud and are always there if you need to recall them. This is done automatically! How cool is that?
- Creating images: The simplest way to preserve your computer to its current state after a hard drive fails it to have an image or clone of your hard drive. You will be able to reload everything on your computer including programs, after a hard drive failure.
It will happen to you one day. A hard drive spins constantly and they are mechanical. It isn’t if, it is when the break. Take caution and backup your data before it becomes a data recovery mission. Just Geek IT would be glad to help you if you have any questions on prevention measures. We offer service plans where we actually will do the backups for you.
